Departure at 10.30 A.M. from the port of Chapora.During the cruise along the River Chapora you will see Eagle's island, Arabo island Shantadurga Temple at Dhargalim, Crocodiles and Colvale island before returning back to Chapora in the evening.
A very little island where the trees have a tortured figure by the winds and the waters. Here, we'll observe the spectacle of many birds of prey.
Arabo got its name because Arab boats used to touch here once. Between 1746 and 1812, the Portuguese occupied this island to maintain surveillance over the river. At the present time not many strangers stray here to marvel an old majestic Palace with beautiful octagonal towers.
This temple located close to the river is dedicated to Shantadurga, the Goddess who mediates between Shiva and Vishnu. Shantadurga Temple is one of the few temples that survived the Portuguese Inquisition and during that time the deity was moved from place to place and was finally installed at Dhargalim in 1550.
Just after Arabo, it's some islands where it's possible to see crocodiles by low tide.
It's here, beside the river and in the middle of a lush tropical vegetation that we'll enjoy a
savoury traditional goan meal. For those of you who would like to swim, there are pleasant conditions to swim.
On this island we'll see a very small village with its ethnic colored houses and it's so friendly and hospitable with very
few inhabitants. Here, the time seems to have stopped. An atmosphere of peace will impregnate us and give us the nostalgic feeling of a lost paradise.
As we return to Chapora port we can see the sun set amidst the white sands of Chapora Beach and the Arabian Sea.
